Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care is a charity providing patient-centred palliative care and bereavement support within Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire.
Following the successful merger between Rennie Grove and Peace, and having operated with a combined logo lock-up in the interim. Gosling were approached to create a single Rennie Grove Peace brand identity. Incorporating elements from both charities, the project also encompassed new print materials and updated brand guidelines.
Separately, we were briefed to create ‘My Patient Care Journey’ a 3-minute animation.
- Primary: patients in need of palliative care and/or bereavement support
as well as Rennie Grove Peace staff and the hospice care wider network
- Secondary: donors, fundraisers, volunteers, local community
The challenge lied within the complexity of merging two separate brands together into a new identity while keeping already established brand elements such as fonts, colours and shapes.
It was aslo important we created an identity which appealed to stakeholders, staff and the community Rennie Grove Peace supports.
Taking prominent elements from each logo - the dove from Peace and the ribbons from Rennie Grove - we created a seamless logo honouring the heritage of both charities.
From there, we worked around existing assets to ensure the use of the new logo was being correctly utilised. We achieved this by putting together a style guide, outlining how the logo should be used, as well as other brand elements.
To allow for charities to successfully co-inside, we storyboarded and illustrated an animation, told through the eyes of a patient. The soft tone and clear storytelling aims to ease concerns patients may have about approaching a hospice, is a tool for healthcare professionals and reinforces exactly where vital funds are spent.
This brand refresh has unified the Rennie Grove Peace identity and streamlined essential assets, across both digital and print assets. The animation delivers the patient care story with sensitivity and isa powerful reminder of the vital hospice care provision within our community.
